Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known as the character the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her role as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was born as the only girl of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. While she had a childhood aspiration to become journalist, it was not until high school that she began modeling. After moving away from New York City and gaining experience in commercials in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. In 1981, she appeared as an innocent teen in the film All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years who was in her 20s, appeared in several films TV movies as well as dramas. The professional life she has had is more successful than her private life. The talented actress struggled to overcome addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to that failed. In 2005 her custody was taken away from her.
